Tattoo Removal

Tattoo removal is a laser procedure, where a laser guides over the area of the tattoo. Unlike a laser pointer that produces a continuous beam of light, tattoo removal lasers produce pulses of light energy. Each pulse of energy penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the tattoo ink.

As the tattoo ink particles absorb the energy, they heat up and then shatter into tiny fragments. Then, over the weeks following treatment, the body's immune system flushes the tattoo ink particles away from the location, lightening the appearance of the tattoo. Each laser treatment breaks down more and more of the tattoo ink.

Laser Tattoo Removal is not totally pain free, it's very similar to having a tattoo. Numbing cream is recommended.

Unlike previous methods of tattoo removal that involved painful dermabrasion (scraping off the top layer of skin), Cryosurgery (freezing the skin then peeling away layers of the tattoo) or Excision (cutting the tattoo out), Laser Tattoo Removal has the ability to break down the ink molecules in your tattoo into smaller pieces and allows them to be absorbed into the bloodstream where your body will then flush it out of your system causing the ink to disappear.
